I made it out with my neighbor again to do some flounder gigging. We got on the water just after sunset and ran up to a new area I wanted to try. The water was ok but I have seen better water clarity a couple weeks ago. We started out on the last 2 hours of the outgoing tide and did ok we saw quite a few small fish a couple questionable and 1 that we stuck that was a FAT 19" fish. When the tide turned we started to see more fish plus the new area wasn’t to bad either. We saw quite a few small fish again and took 4 more home between 16.5" and 20.5". So grand total of 5 fish not terrible for us… we could have had a few more i’m sure(questionable size). Plus we both lost a fish kinda:frowning_face: this was the worst part of the night watching a stuck fish swimming off out of reach. The other one was recovered off the bank he tried to beach himself after he got off the gig. All these fish are extra FAT i’m guessing thats due to all the bait that i’m seeing well fed fish thats for sure!
Nice fish, good eats
Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.
