Left the dock at Key Colony beach at 7:00. Lines in in 400’ at 7:30. No fish till 9:30 on the only skirt rigged ballyhoo (not common practice in the keys). But dad requested it so i did it and low and behold a 15-20 lb wahoo nailed it. Boated him and in the madness he hit the kill switch and the motor died. My heart dropped through my stomach when the engine wouldnt fire. Any way got it running. Before i got the skirt back out the planar rod went off and then the flat line. Double Dolphin hookup. Boated both and nuthin till 11:30. Dad was gettin hot so we headed for the hill. All of thirteen miles back to the harbor. Great Way to spend a fathers day.
