Barely made 10:15a brunch reservation at Morgan Creek. Had a lovely meal with my girls, who wanted to fish a bit on the way back. One throw of the net for some menhaden (plentiful as usual in the ICW) and off to anchor up a creek on a falling tide. Even w.the sunshade up it was hot. Wife played along with the plan, being father’s day and all. Fortunately, three minutes later the little 2000 spinning rig/6’6" got hit by this guy. That was good enough for all of us - pulled anchor and headed in by way of the harbor to surf some big-ship waves.
Can’t beat that, that’s a solid day…it has definitely been hot the past few days. Just a friendly reminder, when holding these larger reds, please support their underside/belly while handling them and/or taking pictures.
