Congrats to the 32 other boats that weighed in fish. We were lucky enough that a fellow competitor was able to lead us to some fish after having a rough first 5 hours of fishing. All we could manage were shorts until a triple produced 2 quality 7.5lb fish and a 21" fish. Was slow the final 2.25 hours. We were happy with our fish and surprised to see the number of big fish caught. That 20lb fish was a monster! I believe 89% of teams weighed in fish! Another tournament has passed where I’ve realized not fishing and expecting production come tournament time isn’t gonna happen! Until March! It’s my birthday on the March tourney day, maybe that’ll spell luck! I told my teammate, enjoy this one, it may be the only time our name shows up above Team Catchall!
Way to go Mike! You’re learning and getting better… For sure, it was a tough day for Team Hardcore. Rarely in a tournament have we had so many short strikes and hookups that ended in spit hooks. We lost 2 screamers in the final half hour that would have made a difference in finishing near the top and coming in 30th-- a kick in the gut! However, the sun came up today, and we’ll have fun trying to rally.

Fogman, we gotta get together and fish before March 18! Let me know when you’re fishing other than the upcoming week as I will be unavailable.

We’ll get together sometime soon. If not in the next month, I have a week off near the beginning of April with spring break. The lower lake bite should be heating up by then if not sooner. Who knows with this strange winter we’re having?

I’ll be missing the April tourney due to Spring Break so my teammate is going to have to hold it down for me. I’ll be having to do the same for him in March. Maybe next month it won’t rain on us at the weigh in.
