I have a pic of two bucks fighting last week. Isn’t this awfully late for that?

Not at all. The second rut is cranked up around where I hunt and I’ve seen bucks chasing does and bucks fighting.

That deer DD killed I sent you the picture of last week was rank and cruising.
S.C. may just have one of the oddest Deer breeding seasons around. We’ve got several spots out and about right now. Would put them breeding in June ish.
I’ve always found it interesting to hear others input on when our “full” rut actually occurs.
Still waiting on Polly to give out his fetal studies.
Salty, you seeing a lot gone nocturnal?

The does have because we’ve killed so many. The bucks seem to be on the hoof and careless. Also, we just pulled partnership and a few of his friends out of the mud. He could write a book, wouldn’t have any pictures of dead deer though! (And I told him this in person because that’s what men do, just incase somebody is feeling sensitive today)
It was quite a picture. I get stuck and call a buddy. He comes and gets stuck. I call Salty. He comes and gets stuck. In case you are counting that is 3 trucks in a row all stuck. My first friend called his buddy who came out and got stuck. Now, we have 4 trucks in a row all stuck in the mud. Saalty to the rescue. He calls a friend with a monster tractor that cameand pulled each one of us out.
Oh. I forgot to mention that I stepped on a fire ant hill and got bit a couple hundred times. Had to strip down to my skivvies, Even had to take off my boots. I think this was the plot for a 3 stoges movie. One thing for sure, it is never boring in my world

Always a good thing to have a friend to help you out of a mud hole! We’ve got plenty of wet areas right now.
I can picture the scene Partner.haha.Reminds me of the time we borrowed a large tractor and a backhoe from a nearby plant and proceeded to get them stuck.Had to get a real operator to get everything out then wash all the mud off the machines while the plant manager gave us hell.Good times. The biggest mistake I think people make is not having enough rope or chain.
If it weren’t for that tractor, I’d still be there. I am convinced that a wrecker would have gotten stuck if I could have persuaded him to try. I’ll put up a pic of the fiasco soon. Salty did you take a pic?

So, did y’all get in a few poker hands during the wait to determine who got yanked out first…
RBF
I had no choice. The first 3 had to be pulled out before they could get to my truck. Picture a single lane road with 4 trucks in a row each about 30 feet apart. One suggestion (before we came to our senses) was to daisy chain all 4 vehicles together and pull them out at same time.
Cooler heads prevailed. namely, the owner of the tractor:smiley:

We’ve all been there at one point or another. That is what makes hunting and fishing stories some of the best.
OP made me remember this article
seen a few photos of 2 but this was first time I’d seen pics of 3
Heck of a read there, Bay!

Did a man drive and killed two that had already dropped horns. We have a crazy deer season!
Edit, Two doe were killed that never even got out the bed. Shot at 15 yards. Dude even whistled at em to give em a chance.
