5/5/18 - Saturday morning we left aboard “Joint Custody” at 4:30am and ran straight out to 250ft. Once we got there we saw ZERO signs of life or weedlines so we kept pushing offshore. We ran across some scattered weeds in 350ft that had 2 boats fishing it. Finally, in 650 ft we found a 2 degree temp break 72/74 with weeds forming. So we got the rods ready, the dredges https://amzn.to/2FWAgNY out and began trolling. As we crossed the weeds to the warm side, the planner rod goes off then the right rigger. We ended up double hooking a 29lb bull and got him in the box. The next three hours we couldn’t keep lines in the water. With singles doubles and triples. Had to pull lines at 12:30pm to get ready for parties unfortunately but ended up with 15 and should have had another 8. Only caught one slinger the rest were very nice fish.
