Final Fishing Trip

David a real good friend and fishing partner of mine for 25 years died last Sept at 46 years old. Our last trip fishing together in the early summer we found a new bottom spot to fish that were covered up in gags and c. bass he mentioned at that time that when he died he wanted to become part of a reef. Finally after many months I was able to take his ashes that I made into a monument out to his fishing spot. Saturday was the perfect day… pulled up to the spot and caught blk bass all day 14-19" no trash fish and only one shark… when it was time to head to the hill he was lowered to his final resting spot, he will be missed but I will visit everytime I head offshore.

wow…thats all that I can say…thats really special Ed…I had a good friend who was a patient of mine too (Mike Chance) who lost his battle a few years back also…way too young…I learned a lot from him about strength…and boy was he able to make me laugh too!!!..( I once put nemo fish stickers all over the ceiling in his room and convinced him that he was hallucinating after a procedure he had…told him I didnt see anything…even had two other nurses tell him they didnt see anything either when he called them as we knew he would…we had a great laugh over that one :), and he never let me live it down…he gave me a old hat to wear fishing and I treasure it…take it with me but afraid it’ll get lost so it stays in a safe place…but every year I take a pretty rock and write his name on it and leave it somewhere in the green water…in rememberance of him…

That was real cool. I did not know your friend, but I’m sure he is looking down with a great big smile and talking about the great fishing folks here in Charleston. Way to go man and great pics.

Yes…I’m about three miles down from Church Creek bridge toward the marina, almost across the river from Eddie Stokes if you know where that is

We think alike…I have a set of numbers marked near the SouthWest Bank called “graveyard”. I told the family to mix my ashes with a bag of redi-mix in a five gallon bucket. Take me out and go fishing…I like your style!

I told my friends/family. Just to take me out to the ledge, sew me up in canvas(last stitch thru the nose, just to make sure!) with a old cannonball at my feet and slide me over the side! just make sure I got my boots on!
