Had to meet a customer at the ramp this morning so I figured I would bring the kayak and go fish afterwards. Took only artificials today. Picked up a very small trout on a grub and another little bigger on a DOA shrimp under a cork. (First time I have caught anything on a DOA.) Both next to a dock. Saw what I thought were some reds in the grass but I could not get them to take anything.
On the way back I ended up stopping in a creek that had some bait getting crashed on the bank. There was only about 6 of water left and it was still running out but I went up in there and tried to get something. Had a decent red run right up next to me, I could have reached down and grabbed him by the tail if I really wanted to, ( or at least I could have tried ). Saw a few more but they seemed to be spooked by me. On my way out of the creek, there were a couple of dolphin trying to feed so I figured that was probably what spooked them and not me.
Overall I had a nice morning on the water and finally, I got some fish into the new kayak.
