Finally in the water, but....

the motor wouldnt stay running while tilted down into the water. It is on my 82 bassboat with about same year 150 rude XP with 200hp jetted carbs. Anyhoo…thought carbs had been gone through but…maybe not. Motor runs great on the hose but not when tilted down in the lake. Obviously a fuel system prob right? Carbs still gunked up? Anxious to get it on the water, just basically “restored” boat including transom rebuild. Will put in some “before and after” pictures in a few days. Thans for any help getting me on the water

if YOU have not been through the carbs it probably needs to be done. while you’re there replace the hoses between the fuel pump and carbs. i’ve had two older OMCs with pieces of broken down hose in the bowls recently.

That is a good bit of info. Thanks a lot. I was hoping to prevent removing the carbs but dont think that spraying carb n choke cleaner in them is doing much
