Finally rigged and ready to go fishing!!!

Marsh Tacky’s are definitely going to be the next investment for 2017. These poles are heavy as hell. Taco GrandSlam 170’s

Teaser reel question…Rather than mounting a reel on the underside of my t-top, I had thought about going by Gunter’s Fishing Supply in Lexington and buying two of his piece of crap broken rods and a cheap, old, used big reel. Just having the butt up to a little above the reel mount and using it that way where it sits in my top two outside rocket launchers and run the teaser line thru the first eye on the outriggers. Has anyone used this technique successfully or with teasers does it really not matter how you get them out and back in as long as you just get them out and back in?

if they are the rocket launchers on your t-top, probably be hard to reach when you really need to. If on back of your leaning post, might get in the way when shuffling rods, etc.

On a small CC, we’ll run teasers off both of the rear cleats. No reels. You don’t need much to entice, in fact, I know several people that say teasers aren’t necessary for the elusive correydoradophin, but I like using them. Once you’re hooked up, those teasers are easy to yank out of the water and throw on the deck.

Short what? Second rigger clip is that what you’re referencing?

23SF, we used to always tie to cleats too. I just like the thought of them coming up from a higher point. If the reel sets close to the rocket launcher (top of t-top) I can reach it enough to reel but it is high up. It’s not the easiest thing to get the rods up there.

You should look at a pancake reel to mount under your T-top for the teasers.

I’m 6’6 so it was easy for me but if somebody else needed to do it they had to jump up on the gunwales to get to it. So we moved to pancake reels under the t-top.

To what Bonzo said you should add a 2nd halyard so you can run two lines of each rigger. One short and and long.

Just my .02 cents.
