Has anyone tried to deep hole for bait shrimp since the temp drop? Would it be waste of time to try?
I’m heading out Saturday. Would love to know the answer. Let me know if you get any.
if you have a place where you would normally catch 1,000 pre-spawn adult white shrimp in march, you might catch 20 this year… I’d classify that as a waste of time by the numbers, but wouldn’t mind a few reports anyway!
curious that you would go to all that trouble for 144 shrimp?

I’ve caught 8" shrimp deep holing…if I could find them that size this time of year I’d be happy with a quick trip for 144 of them!

You would be amazed how the fish would act if they could find a live shrimp this time of the year! Might even bite one with a hook in it!
Hey Bonzo, I thought the same thing, until I did it…LOL. It was a great year, tons of shrimp, and I would pick out the 5-10 jumbos each cast, but man, after all was said and done…definitely not worth the time and gas $$ LOL. Only thing that was worth it was just being out on the water.

This is accurate for all types of shrimping.
y’all ain’t doin it right… this april limit cost me maybe half an hour and a quart of no-eth. why didn’t I kick out that cotton shrimp and get one more good one? 143 plus one for the dog
the man’s question was about bait though, and I’m pretty sure it would take a Texas sized trout to glance at a 16ct under a popping cork…
man a 16" trout will devower a 8" mullet!
How about now? Catching any?
