Finding dem Holes

A quick way I go about finding different “deep holes” to check out for shrimp holdouts…

Using the navigational and sonar chart on the boating app on my iphone, I select map options and then fishing ranges to create my own personal colored depth ranges. This highlights specific depth ranges on the chart for me. I use this for multiple other purposes regarding fishing of course, but thought I would point this out. Hope this helps! Tight lines and full nets!

I like that spot just West of the “2” in “32”, where the white meets the red, in that notch…oooh, or between the “2” and the “25”…sweet spot…word is lots of jellies out there right now and stinging lips and arms are in order if you throwing the net…maybe Capt Fritz can comment on that since he trows de net erey day…

If you put that net in your mouth you deserve to be stung! I’ve found deep holing to be most productive around 10-20’, along the edges of channels but not at the bottom.

You are correct sir. Always on the drop or rise of the slope. Yep, already been popped twice this year on the cast net and anchor line. No mouthing that sucker this time of year. My forearms always take the blow though.
