Went to the area with my father inlaw this 545 am…tide going out and looking to do some top water plugging for some nice reds. we havent slaughterd them but 2 3 a trip and big fish exploding on top. conditions looked perfect when i awoke. got down to the water and had a descent wind. took slow ride to our spot and had to tuck in diofferent spot to stay away from wind. saw a lot bait but didnt do anyhtin for 45 min. wind died so went to spot and someone all ready on it. went over to different creek and caught some descent trout…fat but not too long. headed back to our spot to try fish it 30 min and when we came up to a bar…thought we could make it over and minkota hit bar and a huge wave of reds…must of been sitting on bar…well they busted everywhere…and big fish. Good to know for next time. didnt connect…Not best conditions for top water. so figure hit couple docks and head in. netted some mullet and hit first dock for nada…hit second and pops looks like hes annoyed i even stopped or thought i was wasting my time. drop bait down and ZZZZZZ…1 2…ZZZZZZ 3…ZZZZ Pops picked up his rod. we got 1 more but glad we stopped. Bait everywhere…shrimp mullet… How are these fish down here not stuffed?? Well plugging wasnt great today but persistance paid off. Thats why i fish till i have to go home. Great day on the water!! maybe monday. seein alot fish out there…
