Took one right on the mouth today. Hoping that it won’t blister up and swell tomorrow. Anyone know any good remedies to prevent the blistering other than “piss on it”?
Ammonia helps. Same active ingredient I think! Ouch.

You will post pics, right?
Keep it Awesome!!!
This thread is useless without picture(s)!
Skinnee - You, of all people, should know this.
Before and after, perhaps?
Skinneej, if you can’t find any other remedie than piss, I’ll gladly piss on you and post pictures. At my age, my aim may be a little off, so you better wear a poncho!
Easy, please keep me out of your fantasies…
Skinneej, You have to promise, no teeth!
Cold ammonia bud, that will do it. Apply once every hour. If you were diving the Atlantic side numbers I gave you and you were on the downed Cessna wreck it is full of Fire Coral. Do not go near the tail section, every time I have dove that spot I have gotten nailed. I have had it on my arse and it was awful.

Vinegar or rubbing alcohol may work better than ammonia. If you can see the stingers, pull them out (or use masking tape to lift them out).
Use an anti-itch cream if you just get itchy from this nasty stuff. If you are like me and usually have an allergic reaction, dose immediately and often with an antihistamine like Benedryl. I usually add Benedryl Cream on the affected area as well as the itch cream.

Sounds like a good way to keep people from diving your numbers!!
This is one of the best threads I’ve read yet.
Vinegar and Hot water helped with this incident:
15 black Sea urchin spines imbedded earlier this year in Nevis.
Note to self…Don’t suck on Fire coral, and don’t kick sea urchins.

Not sure that I ever said “lip”, but I did say “mouth”. Was reaching for a lobster and felt something like a knife stick into my face from the side…
But did you get the lobster? That’s, the important question! And remember, without pictures, it didn’t happen!
Hell no I didn’t get the lobster. If someone stuck a knife in your face, would you have been able to get it? It literally felt like a razor blade. I took my reg out, glove off and started checking for blood, because I thought it was a cut. It wasn’t until I got hit on the wrist too that I realized that it was the coral. It was kind of weird. I got hit by a portuguese man-o-war a couple of years ago and it felt more like a burn. This felt like a slice from a blade. Pictures wouldn’t show much. Right now, my face just looks irritated if you look closely. No blisters or rash yet.
Ha! Skinneej, I’ll bet your face looked more irritated when you saw my last post!!! I feel for you though. I’m messing with you!
PS: Walk it off, it will feel better when it quits hurting!
quote:Negative. I will put some of these in my post :imp: when I am irritated. I believe that is the proper protocol.
