Gonna try catching a red on topwater this weekend. Never tried it. This was my first attempt at tying a shrimp imitation gurgler.
Good stuff, pretty fly
Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

That will get eaten. I like a double layer of foam at the head. Floats higher with bigger hook sizes and makes it easier to pop when you want.
Very nice… Topwater OTF is about as good as it gets!

That will work
Be patient with the fly. Last year when I decided to catch reds on a gurgler I missed the first few because I pulled the fly away from the fish. Let em take it good before you strip set.
