First attempts...

I have been playing around with tying for several months, using an old hobbie ‘vise’ with alligator clips…I broke down and got a new setup yesterday, and tied these. The top one is the first try at a clouser minnow - the middle was a second attempt, and the bottom one was a clouser I tied without the weighted-eyes, trying to see how it would turn out. Whatcha think?

They look good LGB… My advice is to tie them more sparsely. Clousers in my opinion, work better when they are tied will much less material. The amount of flash you have in there is a little much too. I literally use 2 or 3 strands of flash. The clouser really is a “less is more” kinda fly. But on the other had your technique and thread wraps look really good. For this time of year try tying some up in all black with a little green flash  Swing by the shop anytime man and we’ll be happy to sit down at the vise and show ya anything ya wanna learn!!! Keep tyin!!! Oh yeah… we have the Redington Predator Rods… I think these will be the ticket for kayak fly fishing…

LGB, if you like the red led eyes, get you some bead chain and paint it red with fingernail polish, it will slow you sink rate, thats just a personal preferance
