Went up to Va. Beach for the billfish tourny with my girls dad as soon as I got off of work which was 830pm got to my girls parents house at 3, then up at 4 to go fishing!!! But it was well worth it. Anyways got to fish with the corporate captain of Jarret Bay yacts and a guy named jimmy from venezula who had caught 400 blues already this year!! He runs a boat called the waterman, watched a DVD of him catching 12 blues in one day!!! I had high hopes of finally catching a bill. First day of trolling watched two whites come in to the teaser and ended up with one, but I wasnt up. Still really cool to watch it jump around!!! Saw one more that day and caught a 30lb dolphin. Day two started off with three rods in and three dolphin hooked up, Jimmy didnt like this and proceeded to loose the fish on purpose. At this point I realized they were taking this tourny really seriously 
. So an hour goes by and I am in the cabin relaxing when I look outside and see them dropping a bait back. I ran outside to watch a white marlin begining to tail walk!!! This time I was up!! After about 10 minutes the fish was brought to the boat backwards, he had some how become tail wrapped. He was released unharmed after a minute of reviving. I told them that I tail wrapped him on purpose so he wouldnt get away!!! Had two more chances at fish with only one taker. It was an awesome time and well worth the sleep deprivation!! I am hooked!! Total was 3 for 6, the winner had 6 releases. My brother gets back from Iraq on wednesday and hopefully will make a trip back up so try and put him on a bill. O yeah I have some pics but cant post them I can email them to someone if they would be willing to help out.

Jimmy Grant is one of the best in the business. He has caught more fish than most of us dream about. Glad you are hooked. Go to Venezeula and get some great practice with the billfish.
