Took a while to post this but been awful busy between hunting and that nasty four letter word some of us need to do LOL.
The morning of October 18 after seeing a couple of does that were a bit too quick to get a shot off, a buck came across the lane and stayed just long enough for me to get a good look at. All of my nerves on fire, I raised up and got him really good in the crosshairs then took the shot.
My phone starts buzzing as Haz-r-dous1, my brother, starts asking me all of the questions a seasoned hunter would ask a first timer. But seeing as it was only the second shot I had ever taken at a deer, missed on a beautiful 8 pt in Sept. I answered them all the best I could. Soon my boyfriend and amazing guide, troutaholic, got in on the phone chatter and said he was coming to help me look for the deer. Even though we saw no blood trail I knew the general direction the deer sauntered off to. After about 10 minutes of looking Trout calls to me and says I got something here you need to see pointing down at the ground in front of him. I traipse into the swamp to look at what he is wanting to show me thinking it was some of a blood trail. Right when I get up close to him he changes the direction he is pointing to just over his shoulder and there I see my very first buck kill.
