Caught them in 100’ with live menhaden slow trolled.

Great pics and great job, going to be at IOP mid July instead of this month. Hope they are in close by then.

good on ya!!! That’s the way to start the season good fish. Whats the boat your on?

JBM,
How did they eat or were you just trophy hunting? First fish was nice but personally let the 10-14 pounders go.Nice radar+ for a small boat.

Gdaddy - I have a 21’ Scout with a 200 Yamaha

Lucky - They ate good!!! I gave most of it away but we like to grill it fresh and make smoked king fish dip. The Radar can come in handy for navigating at night or pre dawn and when you are trying to avoid weather. But honestly I hardly ever turn it on.

Had one sky on us about 5 miles off the beach yesterday…

Very nice catch, had basically the same bunch last weekend in 100’ of water, at the Comanche. We only eat the ones that are 33" or LESS, hopefully they don’t have much mercury in them. My wife loves King cut up and rolled in a beer batter and fried. Good times.
