First offshore trip this year

Took Sunday for first offshore trip. Weather as Reefcast posted. Went to Commanche for some bottom fishing, just no luck. I could not get the darn wreck anchor to catch, draggin it right over the wrecks.
Any suggestions welcome( home mades ones 1" pipe with 4-3/8" prongs)

Trolled area hoping for some Kings but got 3 Reef Donkey’s. 2nd two hit at the same time the lines looked like a Binimi Twist when done.
All released

best colors were BLUE

Ride back 20-22 knots. Harbor worst ride of whole trip

@ 3.5 miles per gallon on Sea Hunt 21’ 150 Hp whole trip :sunglasses:

Maybe you should change your screenname to kingfish 2362 and then you’ll get those bites.

I think it’s just early on for the kings right now. What was the temp at Commanche? 64ish? Another few weeks and the kings will get thick over those offshore reefs.
