Daughter got her one this afternoon ( 2:50 pm ) after getting in our blind at 1:30.
132 yard shot brought him down, but needed a second shot to finish him off. First round hit him high shoulder, but a bit to high.
Probably could have stayed and shot another, but she didn’t want to be greedy.
Today was her 7th hunt this season, but the first chance for a shot at a Deer.
My future son in law brought me some snack sticks that he brought back from some processer up near Augusta on the Georgia side. Dang best I’ve ever had!! Never really got into the specialty products from processors(I’m cheap), but I think I’m gonna start trying a few different processors this year and try a few of their specialties added to basic processing.
I will still do two myself. Loins whole, a couple of rear ham roasts and the rest cut into small strips for yet another year of experimenting on jerky.
been waiting to see that smiling face.
I take mine to Cordray’s and great outdoor’s. Both are great. In addition to being lazy and mostly tired when I kill a deer, I take it to one of those guys because the Jalapeno and cheddar sausage is to die for. I had some made into jalepeno and cheddar hot dogs which are also great. Besides that, they print date on every wrapped item and shrink wrap them so they will last for 2 years in freezer.
Hunting, fishing, and poker are my sports. Work when necessary.

Calvin is the man when it comes to processing. I hope he gets it going again.

Processing your own isn’t difficult. I have a Cuber that I use a 1/2 drill to power it. An electric grinder and a couple of vacuum packers. I have a fridge in the garage that I replaced all the shelves ( and added more ) with wire shelving, for aging meat.
