Up early this morning and it wasn’t raining! Threw the bote in and went to a couple of spots but the water was like nestle’s quick. I caught one small bass on a mud minnow.
When the tide got up I went wading on a flat and the tailers were right where I hoped. I fly casted at one with no luck, then he joined up with a bigger fish and they swam right towards me. I froze and did a little flip cast to them when they were less than 10 feet from me. I actually watched the bigger one eat the spoon! That was cool as schitt! I took him back to the bote to unhook and get a picture. Went back and tailers were everywhere but in thick grass. The water was so muddy you couldn’t follow where they were unless the tails were up. Got a couple other casts but the line kept getting hung up on the grass and the spoon was having trouble getting in the water. Got really windy too.
This was a big thing for me! First one I ever caught on the fly wading and sightcasting to a specific fish. Very cool thing to do.
