First post on kayak forum ( report 12/27)

Well this is my first post on the kayak form. I’ll just give a small introduction. My name is Connor Malark and I am a 16 yer old kayak fisherman. I mainly fish the SI and IOP area from a 2014 hobie outback kayak which I recieved last year. I was finally able to get out on the water last Saturday and explore some new areas. I launched from Breach’s Inlet and peddled (love the hobie’s mirage system) to Goat Island. While I waited for the the tide to go down, I fished some of the docks (mainly the one with the abandoned sailboat) and caught two decent reds (15" and 17") and a couple of small black drum (all on cut mullet). Once the tide was where I wanted it to be, I paddled back to the creeks that weave around the IOP connecter. I was sharing the area with an abundance of skiffs and other boats, so I choose to fish a creek only accessible by kayak. I got 20 yards down the creek when I marked a school of BIG fish working its way down both sides of the bank. The weapon of choice was a trout trick rigged on a weedless weighted gamagatzu hook. I ended up catching four: 34", 32", 28", 21", and missed at least 3 more before I spooked the school. The creek was so narrow and shallow that when the fish raced to get out, they ran into my kayak and I almost flipped over! Overall an amazing day. I would love to share the pictures I took, but I do not know how. Could someone please tell he how to attach pictures to a report (I know it’s a stupid question)? Thanks! I will try to post reports consistently on this page in the future.

Sounds great. So, where are the pics?

The pedal drive does seem useful for hands-free fishing.

You control the rudder with a hand lever, right?

Native_Son I will have the pictures up Sunday along with another post recapping the bull reds I caught during the fall (hopefully). I had to buy the correct cable to download images to my computer. When fishing I controll the lever with my left hand, give it a few peddles, and drift down a creek/ bank I am fishing. It is a very great setup and I highly reccomend it!
