First red OTF

This is a little late, but you know what they say about late.
The pics were stuck in a damaged Camera.

NBK65BO and I went fishing in June for some tailers. The wind was up a bit but he saw something in the grass about 75 yards away so we eased over there. He asked if I wanted the shot and I declined since he saw it first. He cast and was hooked up. As he was fighting it I looked left and and a strange wake was pushing my way, against the ripples from the wind. I loaded and fired my cast about 30-40 ft and put it on the plate. The fish tipped up on the fly and Chris started yelling “he’s got it, he’s got it”, so I set the hook and BAM!
The picture tells the rest:smiley:

I wonder if that little guy know how important a day this was?

I don’t have a picture of my first fish. It was back before they invented the camera. I sure still remember the day, though.

Nice fish Nu2! Man that’s a nice looking flat! Very fishy. I’ve not landed one yet OTF, so I’m extremely jealous. Great job.

Thanks. I could not tell you where that is. I was blindfolded and we drove around for a few minutes in circles before taking off, and after a 30 minute ride I was allowed to remove the blindfold.

Then he put on his Ray Bans and all I remember is a bright light:smiley:

Far better it is to dare mighty things to win glorious triumphs even though checkered with failure, than to take ranks with those poor spirits who never enjoy much nor suffer much because they live in the grey twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.

Nice fish and welcome to the addiction. Great job.

The first one will always hold a special place in your heart…

…because everything is a conspiracy!!!

I have had the addiction long before I caught that one!
That little guys was like the last hit of the crak pipe…I cannot wait to get another one but have no way to make it happen right now:smiley:

Always better late than never!

I forgot to tell you that I photo shopped it down. It was really about 32" and 11 lbs.
We went today and saw a bunch of fish. This fall is looking good. Just let me know if when you can make it back down.
chris.

Thanks …I forgot it was that big so I did not want to say what you said:wink:
It also looks small because I am 6’8" 305lbs, dont forget that part.

I will let you know if I can get down for a day. I have a week in September, so I will do my best. I need number two now:stuck_out_tongue:

Let’s get to the real point. You caught a red fish on a fly rod!

I don’t care how big you are or how big the fish was.

Good job “nu”.

Now I need to get #2 in the books:wink:
