3 years and probably 80-100 trips to the flats and I finally landed one. Man it took a while, but what an incredible feeling. Felt like submarine was on the end of the line. She took off and was trying to get into the tall grass but I was able to keep her close, kept rod tip up, no slack in the line, knots and tippet held. Highlight of my year so far. I caught her on one of mad mike’s copperhead crabs on an 8wt Redington RS3. I’m going to be on cloud 9 all week.
Congrats man!
Great job. I know the feeling

Congrats beautiful fish
Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

If that’s all I have to worry about…there’s nothing to worry about.
Good job, nice fish, and determination always pay off.
