To bad they advertised that sighting! Now some Dumbazz, will go out and shoot it!
That’s pretty cool, too bad also that people are feeding it.
It is neat to see one but with all the traffic we have in modern times we don’t want them here. Unless in a fenced in park or meat farm. Think how bad the damage can be from running into a deer, then triple that for a elk.

Considering they’re indigenous to SC, I don’t have a problem with them showing back up. As far as “damage” to your vehicle compared to a white tail, “totaled” is totaled. It’s not like hitting an elk will have a more negative impact on your insurance than hitting a white tail. Besides, given elk numbers are nowhere near as plentiful as white tail, your odds are exponentially greater that you’ll hit a white tail before you hit an elk.
In the future, where every stranger poses a potential threat, knowing the predator mindset is the only safe haven.

Actually an interesting point I’m assuming they’ll take that into account for management purposes. We just don’t have the amount of wilderness in NC and SC that they do out west to support those herds.
I don’t know how much is livable for Elk but we have plenty of wilderness for them to live. Traffic is only bad in the cities, not the first place elk will try to take up residence.
