Hello all,
Tried my hand at inshore fishing for the first time in the yak. A friend of mind and myself tried our hands at Shem creek with mud minnows. We didn’t catch anything but I had a few bites on a popping cork, I assume it was something very small. I attribute our lack of catch to several factors:
The current, today was very swift current the entire day both incoming and outgoing tide. I’ve paddled Shem creek before in a non fishing capacity and it was more swift than usual.
Boat traffic, I think everyone and their mom was either on a boat, paddleboard or kayak. In Shem creek. Which isn’t a bad thing. Better to be outside exploring than playing video games all day but I’m sure it didn’t help my fishing case.
Other than that I still had a great day on the water. Got both the yaks and equipment hosed off with clean water and will try again soon. We fished the housing areas of Shem creek, we noticed that as you head out past the restaurant side that there are some little side channels we can fish.
Here are some pics. Also if you’re looking for a free way to jazz up your photos I would look up the app called snap seed. I used it in the one photo seen below.
