Heading to Clarks Hill this weekend for the first time. Just wanted to get any input you might have about this lake. Any tips would be welcome.

We fished a largemouth tournament there a few weeks back. While pre-fishing for the tourn. there were several nice fish with stripes caught and released from long shallow main lake points on flukes. They all bit less than 15’ deep. We only caught 1 with stripes on tourn. day and saw very few schooling fish. On all days you had to really horse the flukes in fast to get bit. Basically like skipping a rock, except it was a fluke.
I fished all over with live gizzards and herring last thurs fri and sat. I fished the upper lake and the lower lake and did not do much at all. I did see people catching nice fish in the entrance to little river and at the rock wall by the dam.
I would say go out early and try to look for fish on top. Throw spooks and flukes at them. You wont catch a trophy but you may catch a fish or two. White is by far the best color in that lake.
did really well wed morn above the 378 bridge --pulling boards in 30ft early and cutbait on a point once it warmed up --dont know if they will still be there after full moon but its worth a try
