I will be heading out this weekend to do some kayak fishing on the Stono for the first time in a while and I wanted to know if the fish were starting to bite yet. I know it hasn’t really started to warm up too much yet but I can’t wait so I am going to give it a shot. Are the red fish staying on the flats or can you find them in deep water too?

Nice day fishing with Jordan. Launched about 10 am and paddle up to onoe of our favorite high tide spots.
First cast and Jordan pulled in a trout while I was still getting settled.
A few minutes later this guy came to the yak.
Pretty blue tail
A few minutes later we moved on to another spot. I missed a strike, but saw a swirl along the grass line, so I tossed a mud minnow near the swirl.
This guy inhaled it.
We had rain on and off for the rest of the day. ended the day y loading up the yaks and hitting Folly to gather some fresh oysters.
Came home and steamed up some primo Folly selects.
