First time out today, couple of questions

I took my 20’ Pathfinder out today for the first time. It was also my first time launching from a trailer and loading it back on my own, which is why I waited until monday!

I managed to loose my anchor in a creek just of the Intracoastal. No idea what it got hung up on, but I went 360’ around and could not get it loose. What is the best anchor set up for my boat, any recommendations?

Didn’t fish a lot as I was mostly concerned with getting a feel for the boat, but I did get one small red to christen my boat and enjoyed an arial flipper show for a while as they hit fish 10’ from the bpat.

cheers

Thanks

An 8lb dansforth with about 6-8ft of chain is all you need.

Thanks!

I have a used 8lb or so ‘coated’ anchor sitting around collecting dust, 15$ and it’s yours! Let me know. I’m in Hanahan.

Glad you got out! Boating is an experance that is learned from practice! Don’t worry about the people at the ramp they have had the same troubles as you at some time! Good luck and enjoy.

Since I bought my I Pilot, I’ll don’t think I’ll ever use an anchor again! Having said that, there is 1 on the boat, if needed!

Look in search for anchors there are several pictures of how to rig a break away connection for your anchor , or maybe just pm cracker Larry to repost the pic. It will save the anchor in most cases!:sunglasses:

Hey Stump, thanks, yes please, do you happen to have a generator for sale as well
I will PM you once Matt heads out!
cheers
