Long time reader on here, but a first time poster-
So went to my boss’s house yesterday after work for some R&R. I do fish saltwater out of Murrell’s Inlet since my parents have a place there, but as a cofc student my time on the water is limited. Threw the cast net and had some decent size finger mullet. First thing on the line was a small skate, which i was happy about. Pulling in a skate is still better than sitting on a couch. After that, someone switched on the trout switch and I was into them hand over fist. Had two lines out sitting on the dock and literally was standing on one rod to keep it from going in the drink as I was reeling in another fish. Got 4 nice size trout (nice to me at least) between 22 and 19 inches. Caught several more under the legal size. As the sun set, I hooked up with what i believe was a nice red, as he snapped my rod in two. The rod that broke was the rod I had to stand on to keep from going in the drink, so I’m betting i cracked the rod and didn’t notice it. It was a 7ft Med-Heavy Ugly stick about a year old so it should have been in good condition. Ended the day with a nice red.
Nice!!
