First Trip

I bought a Barbie fishing rod today so I could take my three and a half year old daughter on her first fishing trip. We ended up with about a dozen trout (lost half as many more), a couple of reds, and a flounder. By my calculations, she had an inshore slam on her first trip. We kept one trout that she reeled in - everything else swam away. All artificial - gulp and electric chicken. I would cast and set and then help her reel them in. (On my Penn - not Barbie)

Stayed till about 4 pm and saw the sun sinking. Told her we had to go home and she said “Daddy, I don’t want to go home. I’m having too much fun with you.” At that point, nothing (and I really mean NOTHING) else in the world mattered.
