First try for trout since freeze

Grandson John and I planned to be there at first light. A tongue jack, a tongue lock- down, and broken trailer lights said we would be well into the rising tide and dealing with a bright sun when we put in near Bull Bay. ( If you don’t use a saltwater boat for two weeks, that’s what happens ).
We fished artificials, mostly under a DOA cock. The water was smooth , and very little tide was running. Every known spot seemed to produce at least one or two trout, but all of the 15 were small. If the bait in the creeks is any indication, every trout ought to be 20 inches by fall. I was encouraged!
Then the rain came.We dodged what we could, but it closed in before we made it to the hill. It was like an artillery barrage , only they were shooting BBs
StIll a good day…
The trout are there. Please do as DNR asked, and release them.

Thanks for the encouraging report
