GA-- i am wanting to sell my ocean kayak drifter angler. been used less than 10 times. the wife wants a tandem so we can paddle together. i should be able to fish out of a tandem ok. new, this boat is $699. very stable. two flush mount rod holders, large bow hatch. very dry boat with the scupper stoppers in. check it out at oceankayak.com. i live in the upstate and am willing to talk about meeting you somewhere. i can beat the price of any new boat. $400. remember, this boat has only been used less than 10 times. PM me if you are interested.

Welcome to the wonderfull world of yak fishin. I offer one small piece of advice: first few times out keep your gear simple. A few jig heads and gulps, 2 rods at the most, maybe a float and some mudders/haden/shrimp. (dont forget a net) Just get comfortable in the yak first then add all the bells and whistles.
Good luck.

no, i havent got a yak yet. going to look this weekend. thanks for the invite though. good luck!

I got a chance to paddle the Peception Caster from Dick’s this past weekend. I was impressed with the boat for the money it provides. One of the Scout dads bought a pair of them for something around $500 each. included yak, harmony seat, 2 flush mounts, a Scotty up front, and an anchor.

They’re pretty fast, surprisingly stable, and handled the rough wakes at Moultrie with ease. I found them to be stable enough to stand, but I think I’d just stand and sight, not try to fish standing in it. I wanted to see how far I could lean it without flippipng, so I leaned, and leaned, and leaned some more until I had the side of the hull buried in the water and a wet butt… It didn’t flip. I had to go WAY over to get it to flip and self rescue was a breeze.
