Got my OceanKayak Torque all rigged for fishing except for some place to store my fish ( mostly redfish & seatrout ). What do you guys use? I’ve looked at softsided coolers, deck mounted fishbags, stringers and even a 12volt electric cooler from Target but I can’t decide which is best. I think a softsided cooler would fit where I have my crate ( which I don’t use anyway ) and would be reachable. A front deck mounted fishbag would work but I would have to get out of the kayak to put the fish in it. It seems that a stringer would be in the way while fishing. Also considered using a stringer until I was shallow enough to transfer fish to the deckmounted fish bag. If you have any imput or clever ideas, they would be appreciated. Photos would be even better. Thanks.
When I keep fish I use a large freezer bag from Sam’s inside the rod pod of my OK trident. Looks like a large flat lunch box.
I drop them into my soft sided cooler that hangs out in the tankwell.

i think the easiest way is to just keep em on a stringer and then when your ready to paddle back just thrown them in the yak with you
I have a red cooler that I mount right behind my seat…It will hold all my fish plus it doubles as a good back rest…
I wouldn’t do a stringer …It draws attention from some unwanted guest ( sharks, dolphins, gators)

I keep mine on a stringer then transfer to the cooler when I get back to the ramp.
In my opinion stringers and fish bags are a pain. This time of year I just throw them in the hull. When its hot they go in the cooler with my drinks and ice…I also sometimes leave a cooler in the truck, so if I get some nice ones early, I can put on ice and keep fishing.
I have a soft cooler with a velco fish hatch on top that fits nicely in the rear hatch in my sit in kayak. This time of year I just throw them on the floor of the kayak and out of the sun since they will stay cold enough and I don’t have to get fish on my important cargo in the cooler.
