Fish Bag

A week or so ago I posted a deal on a fish bag (Yakcatch PrecisionPak) from Sportsmansguide.com. A couple people asked me to report on it when it came in. It came in today and I must say I am pleasantly surprised. I know there are much more expensive bags out there (though I have never actually seen one first hand) but, for the money ($19.99), this is a really nice bag.

Description:
UV protected 4200 Denier PVC/Nylon. Fully Padded with closed-cell foam and lined with 0.18mm PEVA insulation sheets. Interior removable heat-sealed, waterproof PVC dry tube.

Long center opening for quick access. Zips and velcro on the larger end provide alternative access when the bag is positioned in front of the angler.

Locking clips on the edge for secure tie down, velcro panel for maps, jackets, etc…, 2 tool pouches, carry handle and strap.

22" long, 14" wide, 7" high.

That’s a pretty bas a$$ bag, especially for the money! Did you say it was from precision pack? I have one of their tackle crates and love it. They are not being sold in the states right now (at least new stuff isn’t), I wish they would get back over here!

The tag that is on it says “Yakcatch PrecisionPak”. Like I said, I was pretty impressed for 19.99 (shipping was around $8.00)

I found the company at www.precision-pak.net. This bag is listed as the Yakcatch III with a couple of cosmetic differences for $92.06. Sportsmans guide still has them listed at $19.99.

Doug, Thanks for the sharing the info. Looks like a heck of a deal. I’m sold, order placed this morning.

Mine arrived yesterday & I’m equally pleased by the detail & quality. It appears to be a very good bargain, despite the ridiculous S&H charge.

I have two Precision Packs. A medium and a large. I know that I paid at least twice as much, but they are very good. I dump a 10# bag of ice in it and it does well for the catch. The medium works well for redfish and anything smaller. I have it mounted in the front and is easy to get to. Just make sure that you rinse it well after using (both bags).

What do y’all put in the fish bags? I love my cooler, and when that rare fish finds its way in there, I think the beer tastes better with the slime!

I got mine on Saturday. Used it to pack some water and gatorade. I usually take a cooler but went with the bag because we were fishing bigger water and I was prepared to turtle. It kept the drinks cold all day with minimal ice. It’s not something I would use everytime but a good thing to have. I’ll probably keep it stowed in the hatch when fishing the creeks.
