Fish Finder

I would like to get a fish finder for my 16 ft jon boat side console, i think primarily for the depth gauge, and to show bottom what suggestions do you have i would like to stay under 200,

I wouldn’t Have a Mind I couldn’t change!!

I would get a lowrance that had as big of a screen as I could get for 200 bones.

there are some on ebay, is there anything in particular to watch out for or to avoid

I was looking for one last year and almost every one I saw on Ebay was either cheaper elsewhere, was outdated, or only came with the head and no transducer (suspicious).

so it pays to shop around, my question is , how well do they work as far as fish are concerned, i mean can you depend on them as far as finding fish or do you just concentrate on the bottom topography and try it

Garmin’s Echo 150 is a nice little fishfinder for under $100. Would be good for a small jon boat.

You can find a good one for what you are looking for. Check the classifieds on forums. Always a good place to find stuff like that.

paintblend, I send you a PM with some info on a used unit I have. I don’t think it is quite what you are looking for, but wanted to offer it up.

Sometimes i feel so stupid, I already have a Garmin 540S on my 24 ft HK all i need is a transducer and power cord, cost less than 75 on ebay and it comes with the dash mount bracket… i can swap the head out in less than a minute, thanks smoothdog, you gave me that idea when i was looking for a transducer for your unit, that is when it hit me , “Wait a minute, i have one”
