Well now, it looks like it did happen. Like others have said, Ring tail. I’ve never eaten them, just used them for cut bait.

-What’s the best eating fish, you ask? I’ve found that for a lot people, its the ones that they happen to be able to catch, clean, and cook. - My Dad (1/13/37 - 9/27/16 I love you Pops)

I bet they tasted great, fried up fresh after a rough day on the water.Good job on getting out there in spite of the weather.Your girl seems like a keeper also. Some people think I’m crazy for frying fresh shad and mullets but I don’t worry about it.

You can eat bait if you want to. I don’t care. If I happen to catch them, I’m also catching snapper, grouper, triggers, sea bass. So I’ve never entertained eating that

Grilled whole on the grill I noticed no difference in that and a red porgy. Some places just call ring tails, red progys and others sea bream. If you eat break in fresh water you will like them. Most fish that don’t get eaten aren’t that bad its just there are easier and better options. Some people don’t like sheepshead because they are tough to fillet compared o other fish. (**() you stay fishing in my spots. Lol.
I know right. Never tasted pinfish and don’t have any thoughts of frying any anytime soon…
When I was young in Florida we (my family) got picked on… the "@#%$)'s eat choffers that’s what we called them or Sailor’s Choice and today pin fish. Actually scaled and fried whole like a fresh water bream pretty good … IMO.
I’d eat two dozen of them over one shad roe.
Too many people fishing don’t eat fish. I still find this hard to believe. So many will spend so much to charter a trip and not even want the fish to eat?! To each their own, I guess. Seems so wasteful to me.
I know a fish is a fish, but is is still a creature of God. Why put one through so much trauma only to just let it go? I still can’t get over that. Why purposely go after an animal to just make it suffer and let it go? Pee Pee on that go after an animal and eat it.
PeaPod’s fish caught per week to post ratio is off the charts. I believe he’s on a 100:1 ratio post:fish caught. He talks crap to those more fortunate than him. Gonefishing, take If from the guys who eat fish versus those who throw them back or cut them up for bait. They post preferences on edibility on things they have never tried. They’re like children who look at sweet potatoe casserole with marshmallows and brown sugar and say I don’t like it before ever taking a bite. I’m a picky fish eater. I don’t like any strong tasting fish. Some love Mahi, I think it’s just okay. I cut all remnants of blood lines out of every fish because I don’t like a strong tasting fish. Ringtails are fine table fare but not worth keeping unless they are bigger size.
