While throwing the net yesterday for some MM’s and FM’s, we kept catching a bunch of these guys. My son wanted to know what they were, I had no idea. Does anyone know what these are? Sorry, best picture I could manage, they were very lively.

Striped killifish. One of the best baits I catch at the “bait beach” I hit up. The easiest to find there, as well. Almost as tough as mudminners.
Could also be baby snook. At least that’s what I’ve heard…
We just call them tiger minnows and they are awesome flounder baits until the finger mullet get big enough. My catch rate is 2 to 1 on flounder using tiger minnows over mud minnows when fishing the creeks this time of year.Good finger mullet are hard to find in the Little River area until around July.
billy got it right.
green grass and high tides forever
jhp----- Murrells Inlet
Striped killifish: Fundulus majalis. same genus as the mudminnow (Fundulus heteroclitus)
Great, now I have a name and something else to stick on a hook.
Thanks
