Looking back through some old pics of mine and came across these.
I am pretty sure these in the 1st pic. are Scamps.
What type is in the second pic.

Snowy?

Both are scamp…bottom one could be a yellowmouth. But my money would be on scamp.

I was thinking yellowmouth because of the depth of of the body.

Both are scamps. Snowy has white spots.

big dog

I thought snowys could lose their spots if out of the water a while or the bigger ones can lose them as well? Plus the black on the sharper parts of the dorsal? I was just speculating not a great grouper guy myself!

If the fish has a long filament on the anal fin (easily seen on pic #1 left, and pic #2), then it is definitely a scamp. The only fish that should really be in question is pic #1 on the right. That coudl go either way because the filaments are not nearly as pronounced as the others. It does look like it is starting to form the filaments though and the tail looks to have the filaments, so I would put my $2 on it being a scamp as well.
