Really interesting; that’s a rare catch. Wonder if it tastes like trigger?!

A friend caught one yesterday. I heard they are good to eat…cannot confirm.

A review shows the species name Aluterus monoceros. Reports I read say they are very good eating but I don’t know what regulations are for them. The ones we caught were all 3-4 lbs.

They are not regulated by the South Atlantic Fisheries Management Council and I don’t think SCDNR either.

Are they good for sharpening your diving knife Skinne? File fish. I know, bad joke.

there are plenty of them- tiny mouth tiny hooks. very delicious. skin the whole fish. theres a nice chunk of meat in the head
