well i finally got something that stumped me. i got this thing at the florida/georgia border while trolling in my kayak with a gold/green spoon only 100 yards off the beach in diving birds while targeting spanish, ladyfish, blues, … looks like some kind of barracuda to me, but also looks different than any other cuda ive ever caught. thoughts?
hanging in there so far! still catching the sharks as always and will remain in south georgia for the next few years for shore duty as well. i made my annual trip to the tailrace/short stay early march and did great for herring, a few shad, and even pulled a 45lb blue from lake moultrie.
cooked that fish up and whatever it is it tasted great!
ive caught bigeye barracuda in the indian ocean before but thats 11,000 miles away lol. a charter captain i book with a lot down here said normal great barracuda but spent a lot of time in the river channel. never seen one that close in here but have now!
Looks like some kind of sennet…maybe Northern Sennet or Northern Baracuda
