Orangeburg Milling Co is selling fishmeal for $56.76 per bag while Williams Farm Supply, in Moncks Corner, is selling it for $49.95.
Also, check the content of the fish meal. Some has a lot of filler and not as much fish meal. Cheaper the price, usually means more filler.

Where do you get yours, Fin?
I don’t use it anymore, I use Baitbinder. But I used to get mine at Black River Marine in Orangeburg. Their price was more than Orangeburg Milling, but it was also 100% fish meal.
Anyway, since I started using Baitbinder, I never looked back.

It’s bad that fish meal is now more than the gas for shrimping.
I bought a bag from Williams, in MC, for $53.
Does anyone know where you can still buy fishmeal in the Charleston area. I’m in Hanahan
Just got back from Ace Hardware on Redbank Rd. They are out of fishmeal and are only selling bait-binder. $25 for the large bag and $13 for the small bag. His supplier has stopped selling meal and he has not looked for another supplier.

At that kind of price, maybe I should rethink this whole “shrimping for fun” idea. OMG that seems high. Thanks for the ■■■■■■■■. Dog and cat food is looking a whole lot better now.

Thanks hawk. That at least gets my cost down to $58 (with gas). Been looking @ cat food prices. At $0.50 + tax a can for a 5.5 oz can for a seafood mix, then use my clay as a binder, it just might work and for less than $8, I could be on the water. What do you guys think of that idea???

I tried dry dog/cat food in a bag. ($13.00) Let it soak to get soft. Mixed it with clay and Menhaden oil.($16.00/GAL) For me it worked as well as fish meal and clay. If memory serves me, last year several others tried this. I have not heard how they did.
knowing how crunchy shrimp caught over bait mixed with clay can be, I can’t imagine what the menhaden milk does to them!
