Fish of 10,000 casts

After several conversations with Capt Justin Carter (Redfin Charters) we finally pulled the trigger on a chartered trip with Ricky Kellum a.k.a. The Speckled Specialist up in coastal NC.

Went there to learn more about specifically targeting the real big girls and it didn’t disappoint. Conditions were really tough and not gonna lie it was a grind!

If you ever get the chance, we highly recommend Ricky as a guide. Great guy, hard working, knowledgeable, willing to share, and most of all very upbeat and positive.

We each had one or two fish we missed that will haunt us for a while. But when you have been casting all day you can get lulled to a stupor ya know

Full report here https://eyestrikefishing.com/wordpress2016/reports/ and if you subscribe you’ll get them via email as they are posted. And your emails are safe we don’t even get a list of who has joined.

Merry Christmas everyone -

Awesome fish!! That first one has a gorgeous coloration. Tannic water?

That looks like a really cool place to fish. Very backwater-ish with all the trees and such.

It is. To give you an idea how fresh, we caught a largemouth and jackfish in these areas.

Those are some of the best fishing photos I’ve seen in a while. You should frame that first one.

Dammit somebody do somethin. Make him stop

Wow! Never had success with trout in brackish water. Reminds me of Spot tail caught in brackish with that rich color. This is an eye opener for me. I’ve fished all my life in the ACE basin and never caught trout of any size in brackish water. Gives me a new take on my thoughts of no trout with large mouths close. Been on a few tournaments and learned a lot of Spot tail can be taken while targeting largemouth…………. but never trout!

Thank you for sharing.

Nice catch Optiker. At first glance just like others I thought you were in Bushy before I read some of the discussions. Nice looking trouts.
