could not talk me into working in the yard with this weather. found two more slackers and headed out to just take advantage of the weather. first for me, catching BSB’S trolling! no chit, trolling just to try and catch some bull reds out in 60’ and catching rare and endangered BSB’S on stretch 30’s.
so thick when we dropped jigs down a doz would follow the hooked one up from 60’ trying to take the jig away from the hooked fish. caught some bonitas schooling and other then feeding the BSB’S fiddlers it was slow but always great on the water with good friends. hope the bsb’s let the mahi do their thing this spring!
If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.
Man, is there anything those BSB’s won’t eat?
Next years shrimping season is doomed! No shrimp will ever make it past that gauntlet.

At one point today we had a school of seabass under the boat and one of them jumped out of the water to hit my butterfly jig that was about a foot above the water. No joke, Jimmy witnessed the whole thing. Those seabass are ridiculous right now. Also tons of little tuny that we caught that were lots of fun on my light inshore spinning gear; pulling drag for days.
Thanks Ed for the smoked cobia pita pockets. It was a perfect lunch for a laid back day in the fog.
