Fish Tagging Report - 4 recaptures in 642 days

I originally tagged this fish at 12". Really neat to see the growth rate and movement to different parts of the Wando River in the subsequent 3 recaptures. I intentionally covered up the angler names and recapture locations to respect everyone’s privacy and to protect the integrity of fishing locations (although DNR does a good job of being very general with the locations it publishes in these reports). I will say that this particular fish appears to have moved to at least three different sections of the Wando river in 600 days. Just sharing for general information. Enjoy!

Very cool! I just had a recapture report come back for a fish I tagged on 1/31/16!

Awesome! I was wondering if I was one of the recapture anglers. Either way, still very cool to see. I too am involved with the DNR tagging program, I really enjoy getting those pieces of mail showing updates.

That you would catch the same fish 4 times is incredible. You and that fish didn’t have a “moment” on the boat, did you?

I don’t think the same guy called it four times. I may need to work on my reading comprehension though.

my fish keep getting retained. And this one seem to shrink to fit the slot limit. I always measure I never estimate.

Wow! That’s egregious OTC. Its well documented on here that a fish may “shrink” by an inch or maybe two when recaptured, but 4 inches?
