Beautiful day, and a great ride out and back. The boat I normally fish on is still on the hill, and I was most graciously invited to fish on another boat.
First time fishing with those guys, and it was a pleasure, made for a great day.
Fished south, and got into the sails (it was a sailfish tourney after all), hooked three at the same time, then the fourth and fifth were caught one at a time.
Funny thing is, we never really saw any bait, not even flyers until we got back in shallow.
Caught a decent wahoo and a dolphin also, both were caught before the sails.
Congrats to Red Bull on their wahoo, and congrats to all who fished.
Thanks Fran. You guys had too good of a day with the sails to catch the biggest wahoo too. Great tournament. Wish we could have had another day but maybe next year.
Sorry, Kemp, this thread went way down, just saw your question. The sails were in around 350-400 feet. We fished south. Never marked any bait, they were just there. My apologies for bringing this back to the top, but I did not want Kemp to think that I was ignoring him.
The edit is because I went and checked my records as to depth that the fish were caught. 350-400, not 300-350 as I first said, but really, close enough.
