Folly Landing @ 930, foggy as hell. Hit a bunch of spots on outgoing, fog made it diff to spot schools to say the least so on the last hour going out I hit an old stand by. Caught two small ones like this on the first two cast and landed two more over slot. Had 3 or 4 hosses bust me off under the dock. All this in around 20 minutes.
I had 15lb. braid on Shimano’s tighten all the way down and couldnt even slow the big ones down. Its exxciting but man is it frustrating to be so helpess. Got broken off alot and spent alot of time re-rigging, (always frustrating when there is only a small bitting time window).
SOon as the tide stopped so did the bite, They seemed to only like when the tide was pushing. Now I know to bring more rods rigged up and were to go first. Mud Minnows, on #3 circles and 25lb test leaders and an 1/2 ounce egg slider.
Gonna go tomm. and get on them earlier in the out going this time and then start experimenting with some other baits once they start bitting. Very intrested to see how picky they are, and how well they respond to the artificials when I switch over and know they are there.
