Well for those of you on the edge of your seats… here are the pix. The day was awesome! We hit the flats and I saw a lot of fish but they really weren’t inot our bait so we moved out to the edge of the grass and it was game on. We all had good hook ups and I landed two pigs that I will never forget. Thansk guys for showing me around. I’ll shut up now and I’ll just get on with the pix. Great day and man… whata place to fish!

I never doubted you for a second!!! I now fully understand why it is so talked about though! Man whata day! HOKEY SMOKES bullwinkle. I had dreams of redfish last night!

That’s where it all started. We slowly worked down the edge of the grass line.

Thanks guys! They all hit on cut mullet on the bottom. Timbuck2 was using your rig Stinky and I was using a carolina rig, about 1oz weight and a 0/2 kahle hook. The first pig just about straightened the hook out though… I may have to get beffier gear before I make my way back out to Redfishville

NikonJ had the biggest of the day at around 35" (unofficial). He didn’t get an official length or weight, but he figured it to be slightly bigger than the 32"er that took him on the sleigh ride. We had a few fish in the 30"+ range. Great day for everyone.

I usually try and have some already in the bucket but that morning I was actually throwing trying to get some live shrimp and the mullet came up instead. I’ll throw my net any time I see/need bait. The fresher the better but I do want to stock up on some mullet before they dissapear again… Just for the record that is DolphinDave throwin the net in the photo… He’s a great yak model.

Forgive my ignorance, but do the finger mullet go away at some point of the year? I seem to see them all the time in the creeks, but I just started this saltwater thing not too long ago. I’m landlocked up in Greenville. I fish vicariously through you guys when I’m stuck up here in the upstate.
Just curious about the mullet. (Thanks for not beating me up for asking this.)
Just trying to learn every bit I can about saltwater fishing…
