Fishing 5/7

Left from Charleston Harbor Marina at 5:15 to a lot of fog. A pretty ruff ride on the way out but found a big piece of plywood in 70 degree water and 7 miles short of the 226. Fished around there for 10 minutes and caught 1 Bonita. Picked up and ran 2 miles short of the 226 on a nice weed line and a 2 degree break. Fished on it for about 2 hours and picked up 5 dolphin. At 10 o’clock we ran a mile south of the 226 and landed on a nice slick/weed line and fished on it for the whole day. We had picked up 5 on the slick and then hooked a triple header. Reeled in two average sized ones and fought the third one for 15 min. and finally gaffed the 30 pounder to the boat. We then hooked a double header right after that and reeled those 2 in. With it 2 more fish came swimming up but wouldn’t take the bait. Ended up with 15 dolphin and a Bonita.

sounds like a great day to me

Not bad. BTW Bonita strips are prime rib dinner for billfish.
